10 a.m.  Quick Draw: How to draw…  (Fillbach Brothers / Moderator: Ed Hawkins)
This panel was so popular last year, we’re bringing it back.  Think you can’t draw? Love to draw and do it well? This panel is perfect for anybody who’s ever picked up a Sharpie. Join our guest creator for a quick (and really very fun) lesson in drawing.

11 a.m.  The Anatomy of a Comic Book (Dan Parsons / Moderator: Ed Hawkins)
Though he’s known primarily for his Star Wars work, Dan Parsons has also self-published the series Savage Planet and knows the nuts and bolts of scripting, penciling, inking, lettering, and coloring.  If you’ve ever wondered how the magic gets done (and how technology has changed it), this is the panel for you.

12 p.m.  Spotlight on Gene Ha (Gene Ha / Moderator: Katherine Keller)
No, it won’t be one of those 500watt ones we hear he likes to use while he’s making his incredibly detailed art.  Join this four time Eisner Award winner as he talks about his techniques, why he still loves superheroes, and the adventures of working with Alan Moore.

1 p.m.  Webcomics 101  (Drew Rausch & Aaron Alexovich / Moderator: F. Andrew Taylor)
Doing a webcomic takes more than a computer with an internet connection and a pinch of creative talent.  ELDRICH! creators Drew Rausch and Aaron Alexovich give the low down on how to get started, how to keep going, and how to keep people reading.

2 p.m.  Closet Cosplay  (Very Awesome Girls Into Nerdy Activities)
Join Very Awesome Girls Into Nerdy Activities as they show you how to become your favorite superhero! The girls will cover a wide range of ideas including using clothes form your own wardrobe, basic hand sewing and even duct tape! All skill levels and sizes are welcomed!

3 p.m.  Comic Con & the Business of Pop Culture  (Rob Salkowitz / moderator: TBA)
San Diego Comic-Con where the future of entertainment takes shape in front of more than 130,000 frenzied fans. Behind the costumes, the crowds and the celebrities lies the business story of the decade. How did the humble art form of comics end up at the center of today’s pop culture explosion? And where is it all headed?  Author and futurist Rob Salkowitz takes you behind the scenes to explore the big issues facing creative industries today including transmedia convergence, digital distribution and new audience and markets.

Because you asked for it, we have a writing workshop! Twelve aspiring authors will join acclaimed writer Tommy Kovac for an hour long exploration of how to grow that acorn of an idea into a mighty oak.

Comic book writer, musician and filmmaker Brandon Jerwa’s feature-length documentary reveals the truth between the pages and panels of comic books – as told by industry writers, illustrators, editors, distributors, Hollywood storytellers, and global fans of the art form. Explore the inspirations that keep creators running. You’ll learn what they love about the industry today, and what they hope to see improved for the industry’s survival tomorrow. The 70+ list of interviewees include Ben Templesmith, Matthew Sturges, Brian T. Winkeler, Joseph Rybandt, Erik Larsen, John Layman, Greg Rucka, Brian Michael Bendis and many more. A Q&A session with the film’s director, Brandon Jerwa, will follow the screening.

Local nerd punk band 3d6 make their Vegas Valley Comic Book debut singing about their love of Dungeons and Dragons, comics, video games, robots, and all things nerd.

Is your “Ring Capacity” running a bit low? Recharge, headbang, or even tap your toes during the return of comixcore pop-duo Kirby Krackle.

Come together, right now, and let’s create a comic! Some lucky artist will kick start the whole thing by drawing the first panel of a story but the rest is up to us. Pick up that pencil and show the rest of the world what happens next!
